Water Cells are a compact form of storing water as they can be stacked up to 64. They are crafted using Empty Cells and water buckets. You can also make it simpler and right click on a water source block to fill them up. Once a cell is filled with water, the water cannot be placed down, keep this in mind so you do not run out of water.

Water Cells can be placed in an Compressor to form Snowballs.
