"While someone is flying through the use of this Wand, any acumulated gravitational energy is negated, reseting the fall damage the holder would take."
Despite what the text says, don't be confused about the damage you would take from falling. You will take damage from falling. You will not take damage if you fly very fast into something though, so make sure you fly into the ground before stopping the use of the wand.
