The Wand of Excavation is a wand in the Thaumcraft 3 mod. It allows you to dig out dirt and stone quickly. It's great for mining, and you can easily dig out an area for building. It takes longer to mine harder materials (but you can mine obsidian with it). You move very slowly while using it.

This must be made on the Infusion Altar.
It is crafted with a cost of 50 Vis, 4 Instrumentum, 16 Metallum, and then a Wand of the Apprentice on the middle left with 3 Earth Shards around it.
Thaumonomicon Entry[]
You have successfully adapted the enchantment on an apprentice wand. You have turned it into a tool capable of moving vast amounts of earth and stone with little effort.
Simply point it at what you want to excavate and the magic does the rest. Tougher materials take longer to mine, and anything other than earth, stone or similar minerals will take much longer to mine. This wand, like all other special wands, cannot recharge.
