Redstone Ore is the ore form that Redstone Dust takes when generated into the world. Redstone is most commonly found within 10 blocks from Bedrock. It is used in all Redstone circuitry.
When mined with an Iron Pickaxe or better, Redstone Ore drops 4-5 Redstone Dust. However, when mined with a pickaxe enchanted with the Silk Touch enchantment, the ore itself is mined up. This in turn can be placed into a Macerator, Pulverizer, Rock Crusher, or Industrial Grinder to receive additional Redstone Dust.
