The Nuke is an IndustrialCraft2 item. It is the most powerful explosive in IndustrialCraft2, and has a blast similar to a Nuclear Reactor meltdown. It can be triggered using a Flint and Steel , Redstone, or another explosion (an adjacent Nuke, TNT, etc.) The Nuke has a fuse of 13 seconds. After detonation, extreme lag may occur, as item drops from the blast will pile up. It is for this reason that the use of Nukes on SMP is not recommended.

The Nuke's Blast Radius depends on the surrounding blocks' blast resistance. Typically, above ground, it will have a Blast Radius of 40 Blocks (tested with Dirt), though only 10 Blocks Underground (tested with Stone). A player standing ON a Nuke will be launched approximately 190 Blocks in the air, without any armor on.

Protecting against a Nuke is possible. A player wearing a full set of Quantum Armor will not take any direct damage, even when standing on the Nuke. A 4-block-thick wall of Reinforced Stone will protect most items from a Nuke Blast, as will an unobstructed Forcefield. If there are any non-Forcefield blocks in the way of Forcefield blocks, the explosion will get through.

Curiously, the Enchantment Table can survive a Nuke detonation, as well as an End Portal Frame, Bedrock, Personal Safes, and any other non-destroyable block. Note that the Personal Safe will not protect anything behind it, so it is not advised to use them to Nuke-Proof a house.

Recipe[]

The default IC2 recipe for the Nuke is not shown in NEI, as it is meant to be a secret. To respect that, the recipe is only shown on this page.
