The Low Voltage Solar Array is a block added by Compact Solars that is an upgrade from the regular Solar Panel. It generates power at a rate equivalent to the Advanced Solar Panel provided that the sky is visible, it also outputs its power at a rate of 8 EU/t as opposed to the Advanced Solar Panel's packet size of 32 EU/t. This, however, does not allow Low Voltage Solar Arrays to use Ultra-Low-Current Cable to transfer power instead of Copper Cable.
Eight Solar Panels (which each output 1 EU/t by default) are needed in crafting this generator; thus, upgrading to a Solar Array does not serve to generate more power, merely serving to allow the same quantity of power to be generated in a smaller quantity of space and more easily passed along a Cable.
Providing that Compact Solars is installed (available by default in the Direwolf20 Pack and the FTB Retro SSP pack), this item can be crafted and then later upgraded into a Medium Voltage Solar Array, and from there into a High Voltage Solar Array.
