The Jetpack is an equippable tool from IndustrialCraft2 that allows the player to fly for as long as the fuel in the Jetpack lasts (around 55-65 secs). Flying is performed by holding down the jump key. It also has a Hover Mode, which can be toggled by holding the M key while pressing the jump key (hold one and press the other. It is advisable to hold M and press jump unless you want to change modes midflight). In Hover Mode, holding the jump key will make the player ascend at about one quarter speed, while releasing it will make the player fall at about half speed.

There is an electric version of this tool, superior in every way but flying height, the Electric Jetpack.

The Jetpack is limited to a maximum flying height of ~245 meters (blocks) above the bedrock layer. For comparison, the Electric Jetpack is limited to ~185 meters above bedrock.

Refueling[]

When refueling a jetpack you will need to put it in a canning machine, along with some fuel cells. You might have to repeat this multiple times to fill it up to the max.

Biofuel[]

A jetpack uses 6 biofuel cells per refuel. To fuel a completely empty jetpack to the max, you will need to fuel it 4 times. That is 24 fuel cells in total. 24 fuel cells is equivalent to 192 plants (3 stacks)

Coalfuel[]

With coalfuel cells you only need to fuel 2 times to fill the jetpack up (it still uses 6 cells per refuel). That is 12 cells in total. From scratch you will need 98 coal. (Roughly 1.5 stacks)
