Iron Chests is a mod created by cpw. This mod adds a variety of new chests to the game in addition to iron chests. All are better than vanilla chests in that they have more capacity and can be placed next to each other. Additionally, they remain as single chests when adjacent to each other, eliminating the necessary 1-block gap seen with double chests.

There are also upgrades that you can apply to your existing chests by right-clicking to increase their capacity. (also turning them into the desired chest, not just making it bigger)
