The Golden Transport Pipe will accelerate items that pass through it.
Using a single Golden Transport Pipe will give an item a speed boost of 19 blocks while gradually slowing down. When using Stone Transport Pipes however, the speed boost will last for about 39 blocks. Multiple Gold Pipes will keep items at the maximum speed but will not accelerate them any further. For the last few pipes that benefit from the boost, the speed difference may be hardly noticeable.
As of Buildcraft 3.2.0, adding a redstone signal will stop item acceleration. Prior to 3.2.0, a redstone signal would enable acceleration. A redstone-powered pipe will now behave like a Cobblestone Transport Pipe.
To increase liquid capacity, Golden Waterproof Pipes are used. Golden Conductive Pipes lose less energy per block.
