Name | Fermenter |
Type | Machine |
Tool | |
Data Value | 938 |
Source Mod | Forestry |
This machine allows the transformation of surplus organic matter into liquid Biomass, which can then be used to power Biogas Engines with a high degree of efficiency. The fermenting capabilities of this device may also be employed in the production of Short Mead, an alcoholic beverage, from drops of Honeydew and Liquid Honey. To power these biological processes, the Fermenter uses either Fertilizer, Compost or Mulch as catalysts, and water, Liquid Honey or Apple Juice as a liquid source. The liquid products can be either canned, bottled (in the case of Short Mead) or extracted via waterproof BuildCraft pipes. This machine needs to be powered by a BuildCraft compatible engine.
When Biomass is further processed into Biofuel, a Distilation Tower will process it with a 2:1 Ratio (50%), a Still will process it with a 10:3 (30%) ratio, and a Refinery will process it with a 4:1 (25%) ratio.
The fermenter's maximum speed is reached at 17mj/t
Efficiency[]
Catalysts[]
Item | Work Cycles | Total Liquid Consumption (buckets per item) | Liquid per Work Cycle (mB) |
---|---|---|---|
Fertilizer_(Forestry) | 200 | 11.2 | 56 |
Compost | 250 | 12 | 48 |
Mulch | 250 | 12 | 48 |
Since Compost and Mulch only produce 48 mB per work cycle, the processing takes always a cycle longer than with Fertilizer. For example, canes and cacti take two cycles to process 50 mB of Biomass. It is still research needed to confirm if this decreases the total work cycles of Compost and Mulch.
