Chest Upgrades

Chest Upgrades are added by the Iron Chests mod. They allow to upgrade an existing metal chest to a higher tier metal chest without having to make another chest from scratch.

To use an Upgrade, simply right-click on an existing metal chest. Metal chests do not form double chests.

Recipe

Normal Chest to Copper Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 27 to 45 slots.

Normal Chest to Iron Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 27 to 54 slots. One Iron Chest equates a vanilla double chest.

Copper to Iron Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 45 to 54 slots. Using Refined Iron for crafting does not have any benefits.

Copper to Silver Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 45 to 72 slots.

Iron to Gold Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 54 to 81 slots. Using Refined Iron for crafting does not have any benefits.

Silver to Gold Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 72 to 81 slots.

Gold to Diamond Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will increase storage from 81 to 108 slots.

Diamond to Crystal Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will not increase storage. The Crystal Chest has 108 slots, just as the Diamond Chest. However, items in a Crystal Chest are visible from outside. This does not provide any benefits other than looks.

Diamond to Obsidian Chest Upgrade

This Upgrade will not increase storage. The only functional difference between this chest and the Diamond chest is the massive blast resistance, tested to survive a nuke at point blank range. The chest also takes on the textures of obsidian.
