In Feed The Beast there are many more weapon options beyond the basic Sword and Axe.

This is a work in progress to summarize all Weapons in FTB, please add information if you have it.

Weapon Damage[]

This is a chart cross-referencing the basic weapons with materials to find the amount of Hearts of damage dealt:

Wood Gold Stone Copper Bronze Iron Gem* Diamond
Sword 2 2 2.5 - - 3 3.5 3.5
Axe 1.5 1.5 2 - - 2.5 - 3
Pick 1 1 1.5 - - 2 - 2.5
Shovel 0.5 0.5 1 - - 1.5 - 2

As fists and arrows do not have a "material", their damage is constant. Although Hoes are tools, they are not counted as weapons and have the same effect as fists (no durability loss and same damage).

Bow/Arrows 1 / 3 / 5
Fist 0.5

Here is a summary of many of the many other weapons available in the FTB mod pack, from various mods:

Dealing damage[]

Damage is measured in Hearts. Damage done is modified by Armor worn. Mobs' health is measured in "hearts", just like the player's. Chicken have 2 hearts; sheep and silverfish have 4; cows, squids, and pigs have 5; spiders have 8; skeletons, creepers, blazes, tamed wolves, and zombie pigmen have 10; zombies also have 10 but have armor points that can protect them; endermen have 20. Ghasts have only 5 hearts. Wild wolves have 4 hearts. Slimes and magma cubes react differently to damage. Their health depends on their size.
